Laptop Hardware Repair

Has your laptop met with a cup of coffee or has physical damage to the screen or casing? Do you have missing keys? Maybe it has stopped charging the battery or has a broken power connector?

Don't panic. @home IT are here to repair the damage and bring your laptop back to life.

Our engineers will diagnose the fault and quote for any parts, if required. We have a wide range of sources for spare parts and will always try to obtain original new parts first but if this is not possible we can sometimes source compatible or refurbished parts in order to get you back up and running. We always aim to return your laptop to the way it was before the fault occurred, not factory default.

We'll also carry out a healthcheck for you and recommend any upgrades or improvements which would benefit your system.

How much does it cost?

Our laptop repair service costs £99.00 including vat plus any parts if it requires a complete strip down or £70.00 including vat plus parts if it is something such as a hard drive or memory which do not require as much work. We have an assessment charge of £30.00 including vat

What's the assessment for?

If, after a thorough investigation, we find that your laptop is beyond repair or you do not wish to continue with the repair then this covers our costs for the time taken to investigate the fault. The assessment fee is deducted from the final repair bill, it is not an addition. For example, if you bring your laptop to us and it is repaired, you do not pay the £30.00 assessment fee plus the fix fee, just the fix fee.

What next?

Bring your laptop in or we can collect from you and return (within a 5 mile radius) for a small additional cost. Click here to find out where we are and when we're open.

Why don't you offer a home service?

Stripping down laptops needs to be carried out in an anti-static environment to avoid potential damage to other components. Plus, there are lots of tiny screws and parts which all need to be marked and stored in a way that ensures they get returned to the right places! We have the right facilities at our workshop to ensure we can strip your laptop down in a secure environment, plus we also have facilities to backup or clone the hard drive to minimise the risk of data loss.
